He graduated as a chemist and English-Hungarian technical translator (1998) and received his PhD in Cell- and Molecular Biology in Debrecen (2003). He has bachelor degree in Business Administration from Budapest (2000) as well. As a market analyst he worked for Gedeon Richter Pharmaceutical Company and as a research fellow in Professor Fesus’s research group in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Medical and Health Science Centre of University of Debrecen. He has been the project manager of several R&D projects and executive of UD-GenoMed since its foundation in 2007.

He completed his medical degree Summa cum laude in (1991) received a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology (1995) in Debrecen, carried out post-doctoral training in the US 1992-1999. He became a doctor (2005) and member (since 2007) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is a member of several scientific and academic societies and associations, including EMBO since 2007, won awards and honors including the Boehringer Ingelheim Research Award (1998), and the ESCI Award in 2007, and he was ranked as #5 scientist in the world based on the number of highly cited articles (1999).
