Conferences

UD-GenoMed Ltd. has experience in technology management of conferences. Our priority is to organize conferences for researchers, who have possibility to meet, talk, discuss with each other on a high-quality, professional platform, rather than broadening our scale of services. However, these conferences contribute for our partners, colleagues, prospective costumers to know better UD-GenoMed. We have done the organization of the following conferences:

FEBS 2011 Practical course on gene expression and data integration

UD-GenoMed was the co-organiser of a practical training from 27 August till 3 September titled "Practical course on gene expression and data integration 2011". Some of our collegues: Noémi Góczi and Szilárd Póliska took part as a tutor during the course. The target group was mainly senior Phd students or junior postdoctoral fellows interested in strating global gene expression studies. The total number of participants including organisers were 41 people. Participants arrived from several contintent and countries like Canada, South-America, Asia. But most of participant came from Central and Eastern Europe (16 people). During 5 days 12 lectured were preformed. Highlights: Vladimir Benes from Heidelberg: Next generation sequening, RNA-seq, Mikael Kubista from Prague: Analysy of R-qPCR data.
After the intensive practical training the participants took part in social events. 29th August they could learn more about the Hungarian habits, foods, drinks, when they visited a traditional Hungarian farm in Tuba tanya.

You can find more information on this website.

EMBO practical course also in 2011

UD-GenoMed was the co-organiser of a practical training from 16 till 22 August titled "Studying protein-protein interactions by advanced light microscopy and spectroscopy". The course attracted Phd students, postdoc and young investigators from several countries like Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark as well as Lebanon and China. The lecturers mainly represented German and Hungarian universities but speakers arrived also from Sweden and Italy. Highlights:
Rainer Pepperkok from Heidelberg, Studying the Coupling of COPII Vesicel Formation to Microtube-Mediated Transport by FRAP and Mathematical Modelling, János Szöllősi, the head of Department of Biophysic and Cell Biology at the University of Debrecen, Novel FRET approaches for studying interactions of membrane molecules.
After scientific programs in the evening participants could learn about Debrecen's special athmosphere, and could even take part in the famous Flower Festival.

You can find more information on the website.

Life Science Technology days 2010

The Molecular Medicine Research Centre of Excellence of University of Debrecen organized the Life Science Technology days in Life Science Building between 26 and 27 May 2010. The implementer was the UD-GenoMed Ltd. If we just look at the numbers, than on the 2-day conference were 10 section with 35 speakers. 22 organizations visited officially the event from Budapest, Debrecen, Szeged, Pécs, Gödöllő and Budaörs. The feedbacks of companies are coming the following data:

The prior expectation of participants were the networking, meet with their partners and promote their products and/or services for the audience. Just on the second place was mentioned the interest of presentations. Fortunately most of the participants were satisfied in relation to their expectations, and more than 40 percent of them were completely satisfied! Many useful suggestions has arrived about the conference organization and some promise about next year participation.

You can see the poster of the conference here, where you can find much more details about presentations only in Hungarian.

EMBO conference on nuclear receptors 2009

The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) focused on nuclear receptors at Annual Conference 2009. This event was between 25 and 29 September. The scientific organizers of this 5-day conference were Beatrice Desvergne, Swiss biologist, and László Nagy, the CSO of our company. 24 invited specialists have arrived from Argentina, Italy, France, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, United Kingdom and of course USA, and kept their presentations. A total of 180 presentations had been on the subject, and they had the possibility to informal discussion. Our colleagues pleased for the researchers of the world's leading edge with more informal events, for example sightseeing, boat trip and a gala dinner.

The Hungarian Mycological Society - which website you can find here - kept its 4th Hungarian Mycological Conference between 29 and 31 May, 2008. The conference was in the Life Science Building of University of Debrecen. This Conference provided all the participants with the unique opportunity to gain a deeper insight in the whole spectrum of research activities currently in progress in the field of Mycology in Hungary. This conference was the first of the history of Society which had more foreigners participants, and they had a whole section only in English.
